Idea: Gravity corrected descent rate

We all know how this goes, ship accelerates the same in every direction. Except down, when you hit C the ship drops like a rock!

I propose a script to detect when downward facing thrusters are activated and automatically override the upward facing thrusters the compensate such that:
-Downward acceleration rate is limited to match what upward acceleration can achieve.
-Maximum downward velocity is limited when near the ground.
-None of this matters if there is not gravity.
