Inter-grid comm system and dock system without block reference exploit

From what I understand so far the only possible way to two seperate grids to communicate is by having atleast two laser antennas, and another way is by having them attached to each other and a script get all the blocks and thus exploiting reference that it keep (atleast till reload of script/saved game).
I was thinking: is it possible to have a station and a drone for example to communicate with each other and have the station send the GPS cords of a free connector to the drone so the drone...
